Murderer Morse sentenced to 60 years in prison, says urination prompted killing

Convicted murderer William Morse told a Hancock County judge he killed Trenton accountant Richard Bellittieri because he thought the man urinated on him over a disagreement.

Morse will spend 60 years in prison for shooting and killing Bellittieri at the man’s Trenton home in July 2012.

The Ellsworth American reports Morse tearfully told the courtroom he got his girlfriend’s gun, shot Bellittieri twice in the head and once in the foot, and dragged him in to a swampy area on the Goose Cove Road property.

Morse testified against the wishes of his attorneys. He was found guilty of murder in April.
