Ellsworth school budget validation vote Tuesday, July 7

Voters in Ellsworth are headed back to the polls Tuesday to vote on a second draft of the school budget. The new budget has been reduced by over a 134 thousand dollars, to a 19.7 million dollar total. City Council Chair Bob Crosthwaite says regardless of how a voter feels, he urges them to get out and vote. “It’s so important for people to get out and vote because…this is our school department, this is the Ellsworth school department, these are the Ellsworth schools. We are in this as an education family so it’s really important that people have their say.”

Only 4.2 percent of Ellsworth’s registered voters turned out for the last validation vote on June 11.

The polls will be open from 8am to 8pm.
