A Surry man is dead after his car crashed on the Upper Falls Road in Orland Sunday. Maine State Police tell Star 97.7, 23 year old Peyton Webster traveled south in a 2000 Subaru Legacy with a female passenger. Webster failed to make a right hand turn. The car went off the left side of the road, rolled over and landed on the it’s roof. Webster was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger was brought to Eastern Maine Medical Center with non life threatening injuries. Police say they believe speed was a factor and the crash is under investigation. It’s unclear if the two wore seatbelts.
Trooper Jacob Ferland is the investigating officer and was assisted by Sgt. Tim Varney. The crash is being reconstructed by Hancock SO Deputy Jeff McFarland. Bucksport Ambulance and the Orland Fire Dept. also assisted.
