From the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office :
On December 17, 2015 the Waldo County Dispatch Center received a report of stolen checks from a residence in Stockton Springs. Deputy Merl Reed was assigned to investigate the complaint. Deputy Reed interviewed the victims and learned that they had discovered several checks missing from their home. The victims claimed that one of the checks had been cashed at a local bank for $2,500.00.
Deputy Reed followed up with the local bank and began conducting interviews with involved parties. On December 17th, Deputy Reed arrested Tyler Hills, 20 years old, of Frankfort. Mr. Hills was charged with Class C, Theft.
Later in the day Deputy Reed interviewed and arrested Devin O’Brien, 19 years old, of Stockton Springs. Mr. O’Brien was charged with Burglary, Class B and Theft Class C. Also arrested was Kayla McCauley, 20 years old, of Monroe. Ms. McCauley was charged with Theft, Class C.
All three suspects were transported to the Waldo County Correctional Center. Each suspect bailed and has pending court date in the coming months.
