Liz Cutler of ArtWaves will teach a class in making felted vessels at the Southwest Harbor Public Library on Saturday, Feb 24 from 10 to noon.  The class will explore wet and dry needle felting, starting with raw fleece, teasing, adding colors and felting it over a form to create a small vessel. The First Congregational Church of Ellsworth’s 2018 season of public suppers kicks off on Saturday, Feb 24 at 5 pm with a roast turkey dinner.  Admission is $9 per person or $25 per family. Downeast Senior College is offering a public brown bag discussion on Tuesday, Feb 27 from noon to 1 pm at the Ellsworth City Hall.  Penobscot Marine Museum archivist Kevin Johnson, co-author of “Maine on Glass, The Early Twentieth Century in Plate Glass Photography,” will speak on the book and the collection it covers.  This event is free and open to the public.
