Island Heritage Trust is hosting Kids in Nature Program called “Hands on Habitats” on Tuesday, July 18 at 9 am at Scott’s Landing Preserve in Deer Isle. Explore fields of grasses and insects, forests with birds and mystery holes, salt marsh with squishy peat and snails and a shoreline full of surprises left by the last tide. Dress to get muddy and wet. This program is for children in grades K-3 and there is a $5 suggested donation. For more information, call 348-2455 or visit www.islandheritagetrust.org.
